EQUIPPING

THE WILDCAT WAY

We are the Lord’s, not our own, therefore we play His way. We commit to sacrifice individual desires and goals; to joyfully serve the Lord through team basketball; to communicate with boldness and kindness on and off the court; to vigilantly guard against division, distraction, and discouragement; to respect our God-given talents, authorities, teammates, and opponents; to play as one body with unmatched enthusiasm and energy, focusing on spirited, suffocating defense and passionate, precise offense; to treasure every possession of every game, practice and individual workout; to lead by using our influence to encourage character, diligence, and excellence in everything; to glorify God in victory and defeat; and to play in such a way as to win an imperishable prize.”

OUR FOUNDATION

The imperishable prize is the salvation of Jesus Christ, giving us eternal life and freedom from sin. We know all of these things because God’s Word, the Bible, informs us. The Bible is alive (Heb. 4:12), true, and useful for teaching, training and correcting, so that we may be completely prepared for every good work (2 Tim. 3:15-16). Throughout the year, we will use the Bible as the foundation for character development and understanding of Christ-like character. In this way we will have athletes who are crowned victorious both in this life (2 Tim 2:5) and the life to come (Acts 16:31).

OUR PLAYERS

LEARN

Our goal is to instill and demonstrate Christ-like character while developing God-given athletic abilities through discipline, training, and an emphasis on fundamental skills in basketball.

We don’t simply want your athlete to play the game of basketball, we want him or her to LEARN the game of basketball. Our volunteer coaches dedicate hours to teaching athletes the fundamentals of the game, advanced skills, team principles, and most importantly ABOUT THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST.

COMPETE

We offer competitive basketball programs for boys and girls from 4th through 12th grade.

A common misconception is that homeschool athletics is a non-competitive arena. THIS IS WRONG! Yearly the Wildcats compete with some of the top public / private / and charter school teams in the state while competing with the best of the best homeschool teams in the nation.

GROW

We strive to foster an environment that allows each and every person to grow spiritually and be strong ambassadors of Christ.

Growth is the best metric that we can use to measure success. We aren’t swayed or influenced by wins and losses, we are rather striving to consistently grow, love the process, and represent Christ in everything we say and do. We hope that when someone joins our program, they find a program that challenges them, makes them ask and answer difficult questions, and uses basketball as a training ground for different life scenarios.

LEAD

We encourage leadership at all ages with the hope that that quality translates into life outside and beyond basketball.

There are plenty of areas where we expect our athletes to step up and take leadership while part of our organization. We hope that the experience they gain with us will give them the confidence to be leaders in their communities, classes, jobs, churches, and future opportunities. Many former Wildcat players have come back and become influential leaders in our organization.

OUR PARENTS

As an all-volunteer organization, parents are the connections between all the many people and tasks which keep the seasons coming, year after year. Parents are the primary developers of our players’ characters, their biggest fans, their most ardent cheerleaders, and the hands and feet of Christ, as they fill in all the roles necessary to create the many social and basketball-related opportunities each player may experience. Our parents are the first examples to their children of our code of conduct, and they stand in the gaps in prayer over our entire organization. The Wildcats are not here without our dedicated parents.

OUR ALUMNI

Having been trained as players, our alumni are the legacy of the Wildcat organization. They take the Wildcat Way out into the world and represent what we are all about. Additionally, many alumni continue to support and serve the organization long after graduation as coaches, fans, sponsors, tech support and prayer warriors. We want to stay connected to our alumni through personal relationships, email and social media communication, as well as live streaming. We also have regular alumni events. Email indywildcatsmedia@gmail.com if you are an alumnus who’d like to reconnect – Subject line: Alumni.

BELONGING

MAKING MEMORIES

From pep rallies and culture nights to team trips and tournaments, we intentionally create moments that matter. These shared experiences go beyond the court — they’re how we build connection, celebrate who we are, and create stories that our players will carry for a lifetime. Whether it’s a post-game van ride, a late-night laugh at nationals, or a team tradition repeated year after year, we believe that what you remember is just as important as what you accomplish.

"LIKE FAMILY"

Being a Wildcat means more than just putting on a jersey — it means being part of something tight-knit, loyal, and lasting. We take care of each other, show up for one another, and stay connected long after the final buzzer. Around here, it’s not uncommon to see alumni in the stands, siblings on the bench, or younger players looking up to those who came before them. Because once you’re a Cat, you’re always a Cat.
